A Golden Retriever played the part of Sam, the family pooch. As Jessica waters the plants, Sam walks up and Jessica pets the dog. Jessica's dad throws the ball to her and the dog barks. A trainer put the dog on its mark and stood off camera using a combination of hand signals and verbal cues to get the dog to achieve the mild action. The trainer retrieved the dog afterwards and rewarded it with an edible treat.
