Darkman III: Die Darkman Die

In the third installment of the Darkman series, Dr. Westlake is trying to perfect his formula for synthetic skin. When applied, the skin will only last ninety-nine minutes before melting away. Westlake is in desperate need of better lab facilities when he meets Dr. Bridget Thorn. Dr. Thorn tells Westlake that she wants to study his nervous system and offers the use of her lab in exchange for letting her run some tests on him. Westlake falls for it and follows her to the lab, not knowing that she is working for the drug boss, Paul Rooker. Rooker has hired Dr. Thorn to find out the secret of Westlake's enormous strength and to make a serum to market on the streets. Thus starts another action packed adventure in the Darkman series of good verses evil.

Featured Animal Action

The animal action is minimal with the use of a rat and a cat. Dr. Thorn has removed samples from Dr. Westlake's nervous system and proceeds to inject a rat with the serum she has developed. She is seen holding a rat in one hand and a hypodermic needle in the other. We see the doctor point the needle towards the rat as she is supposedly injecting the animal, but in reality she does not. A cage is then shown with a cat inside and Dr. Thorn lifts the lid and places the rat inside. The camera returns to the actors while in the background there are sounds of a cat and a rat fighting. They are never actually seen fighting and the sounds of the animals were dubbed in in post - production. The cat is also seen in various other scenes throughout the film in Westlake's lab.
