Kalifornia

A very bloody, violent tale, Kalifornia portrays the story of a serial killer and how he wreaks havoc across the countryside while on a trip to California. Karrie and Brian are doing research on serial killers for the purpose of writing a book to explain how this type of deranged mind works. Little do they know what a close-up, first hand experience they are about to have when they innocently pick up two hitchhikers, Arley Grace and his girlfriend, Adele. Arley, a very seedy, gruff, rude, frightening kind of a guy, is a serial killer and kills as easily as normal people breathe. Adele is very naive. She borderlines being stupid, in a little girl kind of way. As this unlikely foursome proceed on their journey, Karrie begins to become uneasy with Arley's presence. Brian thinks she is just being paranoid, but as time goes by, he soon realizes how right Karrie has been in her judgment of Arley. Unfortunately, he realizes too late. Now Brian, Karrie and Adele must all try to escape from this demented killer.

Animal action is minimal. In an opening scene a Pit Bull is seen as the pet of a trailer park owner. When Arley approaches the dog, he snarls and growls menacingly. The dog had merely followed his trainers verbal commands to growl, with food as a reward.
